Did you know that your abdominals and glutes should be having a conversation during the Side Leg Series? This series is so much more than just a leg exercise and here’s a tip to improve the effectiveness.
To Increase the work of glutes and hips during Side Leg Series, place a rolled up hand towel or pad under your torso. The hand towel can be folded in thirds and rolled up.
Start by placing the pad underneath your rib cage closer to the bra band and test the lateral leg movement.
Pad Under Rib Cage
Do you feel like your glutes have to work harder to perform the exercise? If it does not, adjust the location of the pad to lower on your torso and closer to your hip bone.
Pad Under Waistline
Test the exercise and see if it helps improve gluteal engagement.
This strategic prop placement works with the abdominals to stabilize the torso to more effectively target and strengthen glutes during lateral leg movement.
