Kathy Celardo has been part of the Pure Pilates team since we opened our doors in 2007. She was hired as the front desk receptionist, became the studio manager and loved Pilates so much that she went back to school to become a certified Pilates teacher. In our Up Close and Personal series, Kathy shares a few interesting things you may not know about her.
What makes you smile when you get up in the morning?
I love waking to the sound of birds singing outside my bedroom window. When the sun is shining and the birds are singing I know it’s going to be a great day. It reminds me to appreciate all the wonderful things in my life — even the simple things.
What is one book that has influenced you the most?
10% Happier by Dan Harris. I found this book funny and insightful as the author navigates his personal challenges to balance work, life and relationships. He begins his journey not knowing what is missing in his life, takes a few wrong turns but eventually finds his happiness.
What are you binge watching right now?
Escape to the Chateau. I enjoy spending time in the French countryside while an English family renovates a 19th century chateau. The very creative husband and wife team take on interesting projects with the goal of hosting elaborate wedding events on the beautiful property.
Kettle Brand salt and vinegar potato chips. The perfect balance of crunchy, salty and tangy deliciousness. I have to buy the smallest bag because I cannot stop eating them but it’s worth every bite.
1st Celebrity Crush?
Saun Cassidy. He was a pop singer who also starred in the Hardy Boys Mysteries. I had several large posters of him in my bedroom. He had the perfect feathered 1970’s hair.
